Florida Peacock Bass Fishing Circa 2006

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've caught 6 so far with the same lure and hooked two other Pbass that got away today. You have to be quick when taking them out of the water, otherwise their lips give way and you lose them. You may drag them along the banks or sand to prevent that.

Sometimes the location does not make that possible and you have to lift them. The two I lost, I actually hooked 5 times. Lost both during lifting though.

So far, all catches have been released soon after their pictures were taken.:)

Nice looking Peacocks. Great color. Hard to tell do they have the RED EYES?

Good Question. I don't really know. They are all back in the lake. I have two pairs though from earlier this month. I'll take a peek in the morning and see the eye color.

Speaking of color, the cover and light or lack thereof seems to affect the color of these fishy. These were all caught around white sandy beach areas in the daytime and they all show light bright colors. I've caught fish in darker parts of the lakes and they have darker color tones.

Also the size and age of the fish affects the overall dark specking on their bodies. The bigger fish tend to lose much of their stripes or bars and replaced with what looks like an explosion of their bars into dark specks on the bodies.

Red!. The eyes are. On all four of them in my tanks.:)

Wasn't planning on fishing today. Today being one the designated water change days. However, couldn't ask for a better day to fish.

Check this out! The w/c will have to wait. Catch you later....:D
