Florida Peacock Bass Fishing Part II - LOAD WARNING

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Whoa that one looks like it fought hard!

Much harder than anticipated. Actually had to wade in the water to get it out of some rocks.

It didn't look a big in the shimerring water kicked up by the winds.

Turned out to be close to 20 inch and female. Probably the largest female PB I've ever landed.

It's still alive in one of my ICU holding tanks. Will decide what to do with it in the A.M.:)

Grillin and chillin on the Fourth of July. Stay safe out there!;)

With the rains and the water changes I had to do today, I did not get to go fishing til 7 PM.

The lake is now much deeper due to the rains. The water has crept up the beaches which I favor for PB fishing by to 7 to 10 feet.

The spot where I had posted a picture of a "Beached Monster" is now underwater. I had to wade in the water up to 5 inches above the knee to find my favorite rock formations.

Fortunately, as I suspected, the rains did it again. A pair was just waiting to be caught.

The following male broke my light fishing rod in two when I tried to raise it over the rope line on the beach and had to grab it out of about 2 inches of water on the beach:WHOA:

Caught it's partner a few minutes later which somehow hexed my Penn 750SS reel on my Heavy duty tackle, which stopped cranking. Had to pull it in by hand:eek:

No choice but to keep them and make them pay for their mischief:naughty:

70 as in Seventy

Yes sir that's my year to date count of PB caught so far this year. That's the same number I caught back in the year 2000 at the beginning of the new Millenium which was my highest number of PB landed at the time. Took a long break from fishing after that.

Will hang on to that number a day or two before establishing a new personal high count then run it up to 77, my goal for this year.
