In some places they say it's raining Cats and Dogs. Over here it's more like it's raining Peacock Bass. The heavy rains of the past couple afternoons have gotten them in the mood.
A five minute stroll to the area where Neo and Alex were coaxing a couple of PB to hit their lures revealed Four pairs spawning. One pair was right in the same spot on the rocks. On either side of the pair, maybe about 20 feet in each direction were two other pairs. There was also a pair with a male in the 18 inch range and a female of about 14 inch spawning around the bend before the other 3 pairs. When the sun returns I'll try to put that pair on film. In the menwhile, can't wait for the rain to stop.....

Pictures of many many many Peacocks coming....Watch this thread for the continuing saga of Fishing for PB in Florida in 2006.:D

Here's the catch of the day, 19.5 incher. Released to fight another day.

Nice. That big one looks like he's been around the block a time or two.

Those would have gone straight into my tank.

nice catches. the pbass never spawn in my canal:( . i did see a pair w/ 4" fry though. have u ever seen the babys attack minnows at the same time? wat type of plug are u using?

i gotta move down there with you matt....

Interestingly, that pic with me and the PB was taken by a real estate agent showing a couple around the area. I may have helped her close the deal. The guy was asking about lures that fish likes in the area. Told him that anything he can cast in front of the fish works and sometimes they just jump right into my bucket.:D
