I'm making a drive down to Florida, and would like to hear your input about what to bring. (Especially those of you who went on the recent fishing trip)

Fishing rods
Nets
What kind of lures/bait?

fish transport stuff - what do I need?

personal stuff - what do I need? (clothing, etc?)

Anything else I shouldn't forget?
Are bait stores common in FL?

And CHEAP MOTEL LOCATIONS! (Between Mass and FL)

umm i would get a castnet, theres tons of smaller invasive species along the shoreline of canals, mostly mayan cichlids and tilapia. For bait and lures, live bait is always best, but i like to use artificial things. I strongly recommend the rattlin rapala lure, its one of the best for pbass i catch almost all of mine on them. For clothing, its been raining alot here lately and it most likely wont stop til summers over. And as far as bait shops, there fairly common depending where you are, there really common around the davie area, i live there its mostly rednecks. And btw have fun!!!!

depends on when youre coming .... summer and cooler months call for different arsenal for fishing.

Varanio - will be June. Thanks

SDN.... you gotta bring BEERS!!!!

Don't forget mosquito/bug repellent.

With the recent rains they will be breeding like crazy and looking for blood.;)

Anti-venom for snake bites might be warranted, too. Bring other meds if you are susceptible to allergies and stomach problems.

If planning to bring some catch back alive, battery operated air pumps with long lasting batteries will help.

And plenty of cash to pay off the locals telling you the best spots.

On really muggy days, I fish with my own personal Critical Care Nurse.
