Quite a bit further down south. Oscars in the Everglades area, Red devils in Black Creek idk where it is exactly. Okeechobee has Mayans, there's rumored to be Jags in the West Palm beach area. I never seen anyone or know anyone who caught one, might be a myth.

I got a buddy that has a spot down in homestead where he says jags breed and he catches them there!!

I'd rather catch big largemouth bass if I was in the Orlando area.

And fish for redfish, trout , snook , tarpon in saltwater. Nobody comes to florida to fish for cichlids.

You see its not really that I'm looking to "Fish". Its more the thrill to catch fish I love!

How bad are gators by Orlando?

Everyone I know usually catch sa/ca down by Miami.

I just caught a really nice looking mayan in Bonita Springs about 3 hours ago and I've seen plenty of large tilapia all in a golf course pond.

Gator are everywhere; it's Florida.
