flounder species ID

freshwater or salt? freshwater "flounder" are not called flounder.
 
Trinectes maculatus aka Hogchoker?
 
i had a good size one about a yr ago.. cool guy to watch eat... they dont do much else.

Achirus lineatus?

I've raised them to more than 10" on a diet of live black worms and Daphnia magna. Once they get really big they start wanting to breed and they need salt water to do that. Mine jumped out of the tank after three years of eating every living thing they could stuff into their mouths. Great little preditors:WHOA:
 
Most flounders sold in pet stores are Trinectes maculatus. The hogchoker. They are natives.

Petsmart used to sell Achirus lineatus which was the Peruvian freshwater flounder (which gets bigger than Trinectes maculatus)
