Great looking fish, what do you feed them? Very few actually get that big un captivity. Do they display any behaviors that look like possible mating? the last three I raised that would interact like the wanted to spawn. Of course they need marine water to breed, but it would be great if they could b e bred.

those are some nice looking fish. They breed in marshes/estuaries. Thats why they can live in freshwater. Dependant on the tides, the water they are in can change from fresh to brackish to salt and vice versa very rapidly.

They prefer brackish water when they are that size. They will breed in brackish although it is possible that they can breed in freshwater.

Why dont u semulate a migration from Fresh - Salt - Fresh? Maybe do it once a year in the spring

Because they don't do it but once, they spawn in salt water and the young move up into freshwater and then move back to the sea perminantly. The adults live in salt for many years but once they are in salt water they stay there.
