I saw this stuff at my LFS called flourish excel by I think it was seachem
it says that it gives the same benefits as using fertilizer and CO2
has anyone used this product? and does it really work??

I've been using Excel in my 29g for 2 weeks now and I think it works great. I also have the line of Seachem products and follow their schedule. As a side note, the Excel has a side effect that they can't talk about. It actually kills some types of Algae. :)

Excel is not fertilizer, but acts as a organic source of carbon. Yes, it does work, but CO2 injection would no doubt be much better for long term use.

Fertilizers are any nutrient that is added to the water to supplement/accelerate the growth of plants. Organic carbon/CO2 is a nutrient, and it is used to supplement/accelerate the growth of plants, making it a fertilizer. Remember that ferts are not just nitrogen phosphorus and potassium, but a huge array of different nutrients.

works great. Ever since I started using it My java fern and fancy java fern have been throwing little ones out constantly. I didnt know they could reproduce so quickly

Used it before and had great results.

To do that you need high lighting and a lot of co2, or a lot of patience.
