Hello everyone,
I have a 55 gallon tank and I am currently using some white gravel that I am not a big fan of. Flourite Black Sand is available in my area and I am wondering if anyone has used flourite in larger tanks than around 30 gallons.
I do not have a very good light system. It is a low level planted tank with hygrocotyle, a water onion, scarlet hygro, bamboo, and hydrophilia.
I have a few discus, tetras and clown loaches in there. Just wondering if flourite would be a good choice for a substrate for that tank or should I just stick with white gravel.
I want the colours of the fish to stand out, but I am wondering if that is more of a light issue than substrate issue? I have (i believe) T8 or T12 lights. Two 48 inch long bulbs from Home Hardware (haha).
(NOTE: The Severum is not in the tank anymore. He was there until he got large enough for another tank)
