Hi,

I currently have a cichla mono and feed him fresh sardines, prawns, small esturine fish.

I noticed on " http://www.flower-horn.de/cichla_bass.html " have said in red.... never feed cichla with fish from the sea..

Why is this? Can anyone here comment on this statement..... scientifically. My Guy is looking healthy and still growing at 40cm.

D-Mack?

Thanks guys.

I tried feeding my Orinos ocean perch....they spit it out! Their main diet is bluegill, freshwater perch, and catfish chunks. They love to eat them. Maybe its not a good idea to feed them saltwater fish!!!??? DMack will probably know though!

Feeding saltwater fish is bad for any fish really. The saltwater fish contain salt which if you feed to much to your fish they could possibly die. I never feed my fish saltwater fish. Even when you get market shrimp make sure you don't get shrimp containing salt.
