Hi I'm looking to buy a flower horn he or she is huge 15inch it has a little fin damage and on the head but what general health issues do they have and does any have any experience with the flower horn with other fish in the same tank

Most people generally will say dont buy a fish if it looks sick or is beat up, but if you like it and want it go for it. I bought a female fh that had major damage to all fins and side of body, but she is recovering pretty quick. In about 3 weeks she grew almost all of her fins back, beside the tail thats taking longer to come in but getting thier. They are hardy and recover quickly , imo... Also if you have big enough tank you might be able to work it out with tank mates but all 4 of my fh are seperated and by them selfs..... My small 2 inch ZZ killed my green terror and a pacu i had in the tank so i kkep um seperated. They are def. Aggresive fish.... Also i am no expert and dont no a hole lot ,so correct me if im wrong people, but they are like any other fw fish when it comes to disease. Health issues may depend on that single fish being these are hybrids.

What?! A 15" female flowerhorn? Holy crap...must still have a very dominant trimac in her or something. The biggest female I've seen to date was 10", and the biggest I've heard is 11.5"...

Fin rot and hole in the head....idk bout that pick up....also being 15" its prolly on the back end of its lifespan...its totally up to u....FH at a young age are not so hardy could easily get sick....because they are hybrids the chances goes up for that type stuff....as far as tankmates so far for me I find that the younger FH are more aggressive than the older ones...my big male is ok in a 130 tank with a bunch of smaller FH...I think the reason is because for sure he is the king of the tank...but generally it depends on individual fish temperment
