Soooo I don't know if I should post this but my curiosity is getting the better of me. What makes flower horns so amazingly expensive and awesome? I want to know!! I want to see if I have what it takes to become immersed into the flower horn community. I need a push!

Well they are breed for certain characteristics so when these characteristics are perfect or near perfect the fish is considered valuable because of the work it took to bring out those characteristics through tons of selective breeding and the small amount of fish with those characteristics. Hope that helped :)

Sounds like a success story of hard work sweat blood and dedication, at first I didn't like flower horns much but after a few hundred visits to my lfs and his flower horns on display I have kinda grown attached to em.

Thats how it started for me lol. I was like, what kind of whack fish is called a Flowerhorn. Poked around here a bit and baam, 2 weeks later I have my first Red Dragon. The thing with Flowerhorns is, there are so many strains and variants that you will find something you like. Keep looking around the Hybrid forum and something will catch your eye. :)

Careful...I started with 1, 2, now a dozen along with a few hundred frys and just today, another batch on the way. Who knows, you might even create your own strain of flowerhorn. Good luck in your choice(s).
