I just got a golden flowerhorn about 6 inches long ( female)

and she kicked the crap outta my king kamfa 4 inches long (male)

they stay in a 90 gallon tank. now separated by a divider

my kamfa has pretty badly ripped lips. how do i treat him.

can anyone explain what went wrong in this breeding ?

The male is too young to breed at 4"
Wait till he gets to 10" or more before you try breeding again..
Even then, they might not match & might try to kill each other.. Just need to keep an eye on them when you put them together..

You need melafix. Like HH said that male is way too young and small to be breeding with that female.

I have the same problem, My female is too big for my male and she beats him up. Everyone tells me that you should have a smaller female than the male since the bigger male can most likely handle her.

I just hope those lips of my kamfa recover . Just looking at it is painful.
