hi, I planning to get a P. schroederi, but i need a help

- Is it really an agressive ray? Can I raise a small female Flower (8") with my male Leo (10") e female Motoro (10")
- About the grown rate, can my 79"x28"x24" tank hold a Schroederi for 2-3 years? (I think, that´s the time I need to get a bigger tank)

Tks

Flowers are not aggressive rays, the problem will be the leo and motoro will out compete it for food. Doesn't mean you can't keep them together, just have to make sure that the flower gets enough food.

I am not certain about the growth rate, I believe it is a slow grower but I can't remember for certain.

You will want to keep it by itself for awhile till its eating strong.. they don't take to stress to well.. as far as growth that tank will be fine for a couple years. But before you mix it with your other rays get it eating multiple types of food

I agree with Nic and John, get it settled and eating good before mixing it in. I would say a couple months of isolation. It might take to eating if introduced first thing but a good chance it will stop and give you problems down the road. They are not aggressive and grow slow but they love to bite so don't be surprised if it would rather bite the back of your other rays during feeding time than to eat on it's own.

Tnks for the tips! I heard about the Flower agressive behavior, I was wondering if that is specie or a individual behavior...
coz i have 5 rays in the other tank and I know that bite thing...one Bd leo and motoro always bite the others competing for food, but the other leo and Motoros dont do that. The 79"x28"x24" tank is cycling right now, and I will purchase the Flower first and leave the others for a while in the other tank.

Tnks a lot!

Olá Antonio, grande abraço!

I was wondering to get a male coz I was concerned about the female grown rate, but I am afraid of the male breeding agression with my female Motoro, that's why I will get a female Flower. But for now IBAMA is not giving permission to the companies send stingrays to other states in here ...I hope they will allow that soon.

every ray is different.i have a hyper agressive flower male.once properly acclimated any ray will feel comfortable in its environment if conditions are right.

Agree with both these statements. My female flower is doing spectacular with my Leos and Marbles. Actually will dive into the pile to get at the food. As for as growth rates, my flower grows much slower than the blacks. Not what I expected.
