Flower Ray tails

From your pics, it looks to me like you've got two different flower variants; the male is what most exporters call a 'normal' flower, whereas the female is a 'Trebol' or black flower. I'm actually in the same situation right now - one of each, same as yours are, and my female is black most of the time but the male is still 'washed out' and not even close to being fully dark yet. Great looking flowers!
 
So is it everyones's female that is dark? My female is dark also and what exporters would call the trebol flower. Did any of your males that came in Kyle have the dark background.

thanks! am i to assume that they will both look similarly when the attain adult coloration?
 
From all the pics that I've seen of large, mature flowers they all appear to be dark, so I would say that both your male and my male will darken with time (mine has been getting darker as he's grown from 6-9/10").

skynoch - the only other trebol flowers I had with the first shipment were all small (4-5"), so it was difficult (though not impossible) to tell them from the normal flowers. I am supposed to be getting in another 6 flowers, all Trebol, this upcoming Wednesday, so we'll just have to see what I get.
