Where there is sunshine
Hey guys..
Do u think I can keep a flowerhorn and an arowana in the same tank??
The tank is a 240(8' x 2' x 2').
I currently have a Silver Arowana(1'3"), 2 Jaguar chiclids(6"), 1 Sail fin catfish(6") and 2 parrots(4").

Delgado does it with no problems.

It may be a different case for you though.

But are the flowerhorns so mean that they will go after an arowana??

How big is your flowerhorn? It all depends on the attitude of your FH. I use to have a silver with a fh before, and i also had no problems at all between them two, they looked great in the same tank.
I would recommend that you put a smaller size fh in the tank, but not small enough where it could be a midnight snack.

I wouldn't bother risking your majestic Aro. Maybe if the FH was significantly smaller.

If it was a jardini, the flowerhorn would probably get a beating, but not a silver.

I have done it before, neither picked on each other. 24" silver with 10" FH.

My uncle had a 5" Flowerhorn with a 4" Silver Aro....lived in there for like 1 week and he loved the Aro.....Then one day as he was bringing food to the Aro, the FH ripped the Aro in half!!!

Now he's done it again, with a slightly bigger Aro....they seem to not mind eachother..

Agreed, as long as the aro is bigger then it shouldnt be a problem. The problem starts when you want to add another fish in there, the fh may not tolerate it.

i've found that as long as the FH is the smallest fish introduced to a tank they are extremely docile. however, when i've placed my 6in fh in tanks with fish even a bit smaller than it, it is extremely aggressive and almost killed a couple beautiful green severums.
