Good, hopefully The ones I get will be smaller than that size. I'm gonna try my hand at breeding kirin parrots. My female parrot is 3 inches so by the time the flowerhorns at breeding size the female will be a bigger.

Good luck with it and may all luck be with you on it!

im lookin for a male to do the same thing but everyone i talk to sais its a bad idea to do it and i cant find any that are equal in size to my female

Why would it be a bad idea? As long as you know what to do with them and give them proper home/care then you'll be just fine.
And also remember, you want 1 that is bigger than your female. Male needs to be dominant here.

But not to big or he will claim the whole tank as his kill the other fish. I tried this before with a 5-6 male and a 2 inch female. 5 minutes later I moved everyone around.

I have 1 female and 2 possible ones that are about 3 inches. If I can get a few flowerhorns that are 1.5 - 2 inches they will be about the same size when the flowerhorn hits 4 inches. I noticed they grew faster than blood parrots.

6 inch flowerhorn should be ready to breed but its better if you wait until they mature around 8 inches

Your not suppose to have any tank mates with FH at all. In very few case it is possible due to amount of space or just the fish itself. But most FH will not tolerate it at all, and your suppose to condition the 2 before breeding them. And by the way, I find any female under 4" pretty tough to breed. But is it possible too.

Not only does size matter but IME some male/fem combinations just weren't meant to be. This is the reason for a divider and getting them used to each other. You should be able to tell if its going to be a bloodbath or a match made in heaven by how they interact at the divider. GL with what you decide to do!

well just make sure ur divider i well anchored cus my male knocked over mine and almost killed my female :(
