None of them are easy to breed in my opinion. From purebred cichlids to flowerhorns most can spawn at 2.5-3" in the right conditions. I've seen so many small pairs of cichlids on this site produce fry it's ridiculous but not impossible. It's not uncommon to see breeding pairs of parachromis or amphilophus fish at 3" but when people see flowerhorns breeding that small they're always surprised. Flowerhorns are only more difficult to breed due to their fertility rates and the fact that it is so hard to pair them because of their aggression.

True I guess, since the past few years of studying about them. I didn't pay much attention to the breeding about FH that much. More into care, original strains vs newer strains, sickness, quality etc etc etc...:D

Same here. I feel like I've been keeping them forever but never had any real attempts at breeding anything awesome. This is the only pair I've ever tried to breed but my male was too old or just not fertile.

I'm not sure if it's my lack of females, all of my males aggression, or the fact that I can get newer/better strains from Thailand for cheaper than I can breed them myself. I don't know. I have hopes of breeding some stuff now that I have such a variety of quality fish but nothing is set in stone yet.

My guy started breeding at about 4 to 5 in. My question is when you do have little wigglers who do you remove the male or female for the youngins to live.
