feed them sumo food. Its really expensive, but I hear it really brings out the color and the head. I haven't had any experience though.

Not really looking for marketing hype, but people with real experience raising quality FH's.

You know, what they've found to work best, what things they like and dislike.

JP uses about the same diet as I do, he just feeds one type of food each day, and shrimp only on the Bio day, I mix mine all up.

Kens pellets are some of the best out there for my base pellet then add enchantment pellets on there. I am a believer and user of Ching Mix and I also add alife to my blends. Also getting the water right will help the fish as well.

What do you mean by "Bio day". Im new in this hobby so Can you please give me the details how you feed your Flowerhorn. What vitamins do you give to your FH?

This discussion is almost 3 years old .........

The bottom line is this, flowerhorns are no different than the CA cichlids that make up the majority of their genetics. Treat them exactly the same as some of the more aggressive omnivorous CA cichlids & you're good to go.

That includes diet, backgrounds, substrate, lighting, water quality, tank mates, etc-etc-etc
