It is a moving bed filter....Good job Chia!!! Love the Japro as always...and wow..what a monster head on the first!!! Back to the filter.......it is probably one of the best..if not the best ways of biological filtration there is....I too am going to be using a moving bed filter real soon...just need to get my hands on some of the media to do it....stuff is hard to come by and is not cheap!!!! Once the filter is established and the BB colonizes....it goes thru a life cycle just like everything else in the tank....and thats usually when you have to clean your tank..(when the life cycle of BB ends)...but with a moving bed filter.....the old BB dies and lets say...falls off the media and is replace by new BB) for all newcomers BB stand for Beneficial Bacteria. This filtration type will cut down on the amount of water changes and will keep you tank in tip top shape once established!!
