Interesting. The treatment I used stopped the white stuff/damage area. improved his colour within the hour and seemed to make a slight difference to fecal matter also. Try Canasten cream. used for thrush in women. Yes a topical cream. Remove the fish from the tank and apply to affected areas. I used a salt bath 1/2 cup salt to 4l (about 1 galon i think), 5 minutes no more no less. Then transfered to recovery with no salt (sounds strange but I use osmotic shock to dammage the bacterior) with a combo treatment of Melafix Pimafix and prime. the fish stays here for 1-2 hours (during this time his tank was stripped and steralised, including filtration and decor) tank now reassembled and running I take the fish to a wet towel cover its eyes and treat any damaged area after drying with a dry towel with topical cream. he was then returned to his tank with a dash of the combo previously mentioned. 24 hours later he is back to normal colour back to normal attitude and his fecal issues are getting better. This may or may not be a cure It works for me.
Ps Sorry I do have a medicated disorder can sometimes misconstrude what people mean.

OK ok ok, There is serious flaws within my theory, but you dont have to stop talking to me!
In hindsight, I highly reccomend canasten for external treatment, works on a large range of issues actually. It would appear that as mentioned previously Metro (if available) is the prefered treatment. I wish I could get hold of some! Others suggest Quinine sulfate for external symptoms. My position now stands as such. I have no metro nor can I seem to find any acess to it. I am trialing an new treatment that I am devising as I go. This treatment is highly experimental and not recommended. My fishes fecal problems returned. I have stabalised him again through a new development in my treatment. if this works it may suit some as a last resort. Send me Good thoughts please. 6 hours infront of tank so far today.

lol. thanks for the reply. but i think thats a very hard job to do lol.

anyways the fish problem is not external . its internal parasites.
the metro thing is working but slowly.

thats great for you. I still cant get Metro!!! so I have to do some thing. I wont quit without a fight!

The fight continues:
My Boy is still fighting and doing well, recovery is slow but definately recovery. This can be done without metro. I do not recommend anyone to try this, It was a last resort that has saved a favourite fish. Still OWNED! In reality the 30+ hours work and constant monitering to some may not seem worth it but to me every fish is worth a fight! I am mentally and physically exhausted. I have developed a new cure for hex and think I can refine the system. This is not for the inexperienced or feint hearted. Nor is it a miricle cure. just a last ditcher when no metro is available and you cant let the fish die! This has saved 1 fish only. it has no scientific or probably even logical reasoning I'm just a bloke with some fish, and apparently an unhealthy obsession!
Hex can be beaten without Metro.
Going for sleap now,
BBF.

Try the pharmacies for metro. It's available as generic or Flagyl.
