My flowerhorn ( which I talk about in other threads ) recently just got whit spots all over it's body, it's been on the outer corner of my tank. How do I treat my fish back to normal?
From your other posts, this seems to be a brand new fish (~1 week), so if it has visible ich, it likely came with it. However, the above ideas are correct. Pics and water parameters are needed. Of course, people can guess, but it's safer for the fish if people get a better look at the situation first.
Here's a pic of a cichlid with a bad case of ick.
If this is the kind of spots your fish has, then it is ick.
I cured the one above by adding rock salt to the tank until the salinity read just above 3ppt (parts per thousand, on my salinity/conductivity meter.
I continues the salt treatment until bout 2 weeks after all spots disappeared.
This is because each spot irrupts into @ 100 new ick protozoa, some which sit dormant in the substrate or floor of the tank, waiting to reinfect. And until they hatch, and are osmotically lysed by the slat, the disease is not cured.
Here are the same fish a couple weeks later.
