FLOWERHORN HEAD DEFLATING???

hey guys i have a flower horn with a decent size hump, he has done fine for a long time then one day he got sick and his head looked like it got smaller. After he recovered i feed him the usual diet of various hikari products but his hump diddnt seem to get back to its original size. i even tried changing his diet to chingmix and grand sumo, it looked like it was getting back to its original size then overnight boom back to looking like it deflated with a lot of wrinkled skin.... andbody know why this is???? anybody got any suggestions??? ive never had this problem with any other of my FHs before and im stumped.... please any and all help ius greatly appreciated, thanks

If he is in recovering period after sickness that is normal. Also you can your water parameters, heater, filter etc., maybe at night there was something wrong.
But give him some time.

i dont think its a fake one because when he was first recovering from the sickness his head got back to almost normal size, then all of a sudden back down, i keep him @ 82 degrees and the water chemistry is perfect, i was wondering if it had anything to do with the feeding??? should i change up his diet and give him more protein rich food??? i try to give him stuff with as much vegetable matter as possible but could he possibly need more protein in his diet???

i had a similar problem with my red dragon flowerhorn...i assure u that it is temporary..and as aserdar said just make sure that your tank is functioning properly and feed him extra protein rich food..he should be fine in a week or so

Naturally protein diet is preferable for performance. Temp. is not bad. around 28-29c is fine. And I actually asked about your ph-gh (kh also) parameters. As you can see from tutorials ph should be over neutral and water should be slight hard for kok.

ph plays a good part in it also.Test your water your ph might be low.etc

Actually gh (with kh) is the key for head up. ph is -generally- a result of hard water parameters. long story and there are more informative topics on forum.
