So imo I would say it's a female due to the papilla being very short yet wide. Also the fact the it's papilla is facing towards the front of the FH also suggests that it's female. Males generally will have a papilla that is needle shaped and can face any direction. I want to say based on the coloration, of what lil I can see of the fish, that it's a ZZ Red Dragon?
Definitely a high grade one too. Don't see too many females that end up with a kok that big or with such vibrant coloration. Had one with a big kok once but she was dull and drab compaired to yours. Lol this was my female when I still had her.
mine was already 6months with me so total around 8months cuz its around 2.5 months when i bought im just waiting for it to lay eggs to confirm but im not sure how old it will take to lay eggs ?
Age doesn't matter. They won't start laying until roughly 4in. I have another female currently and she's about 3 years old now and just now started laying eggs this year. Granted this one also ended up a dwarf at only 5.5in so I'm pretty sure it's all got to do with size vs age. Lol she's my favorite one tho since she's almost 100% faded, just has some black in it's fins and a mustache. She's also the sister of the one in the previous post too.
