Flowerhorn in a community tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I won't recommend it too..... but I have been doing it for almost 3 years now.... and 3 more years in a different city. There are some very basic tricks that one needs to take care of (you can have an idea of those by looking at the pic).
I have bred the faders in this tank with no partition or anything. Here's the breeding thread: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?399910-Golden-based-FH-pair-breeding
Can talk about the tricks in detail if you would like to try this out. For starters, always try getting all the stock at one go and in juvenile sizes..... Really makes a difference.

BTW, I have never lost a fish for the blasphemy of keeping FH in a community tank! Sudden inexplicable disease/ out of town has claimed a few lives over the years though.....

Ive raised a few to adult hood in a sa/ca community. Im overstocked and follow all the other keep fish that dont mix together protocol but it can be done. I even had one breed with a texas twice. No deaths. Im currently raising two. Now if you want quality in that fish if you add him at a small size with big dominant fish you might restrict his full potential. Fh that you want to grow to their full potential should always be raised alone
