Flowerhorn Longevity

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
people feed their fh food containing hormones just to increase the size of the head or to make the color more intense in a very short period of time..this is widely practised in thailand as the food is readily available..this reduces the lifespan..u should always go for known brands when it comes to food like hikari or nls..these vil bring out the colors and head and moreover vil keep ur fh healthy..and overfeeding to beef up ur fish is also bad as mentioned earlier.

The higher the quality the worse it's life span is?

No, because high quality means healthy, too. High quality is an allround good fish ( nice size, healthy, colours, pattern, kok and so on) But sometimes the better the colour the lower its lifetime ( not a rule of thumb!)

No, typically high quality is measured by appearance and not health when it comes to Flowerhorn.

If you look back in my threads I had an old school ZZ that I had for 7 years or so. It had a lot of trimac in it, was a low quality fish.

Interesting.

If anyone has had a high quality FH such as a King Kamfa that had lived for 4+ years, please chime in.
