Flowerhorn or Red Devil

Is this fish going into a tank by themselves? I'm assuming you are wanting a solitary wet pet. In addition to what everyone else has already said, the other factor is, what do you like the look of better? Since you are only getting one fish, and since personality is situational fish to fish, what fish would you rather look at for the years ahead? I have a pied bald red devil who is super cool. Cool personality, also pretty mean, but fun and a good looking fish. Not that I regret buying my devil, but if it came down to it and I had the option and access to get either a red devil or flowerhorn as a solitary wet pet, I would get a flowerhorn. Either way, I don't think you will regret it. Both great fish! Good luck.
 
personally i would go with the horn i've owned several and have yet to be let down, if you have the means to do so i would suggest ordering one online, unless you have a lfs that seems to import decent stock.
 
The red devil. Not saying they are better than flowerhorn's I just don't like hybrids.
 
Have you looked into pure trimac (amphilophus trimaculatus) that would be my vote
 
Flowerhorns are weak fish(genetically), very prone to internal parasites. Go with a Midas if you're looking for a pet that will last in the long hall. Although if you want a fish that has more color then go with a flowerhorn.
