Hay, I just have a couple of questions on flowerhorns

1. can i raise a pair of flowerhorns together without any aggresion (I realize they're flowerhorns.)

2. What's the minimum aquarium size for a pair of flowerhorns (I was thinking 75 but not sure.)

Thanks, there'll be more questions coming:D

yes you can pair FH's with our aggrestion. very hard tho

ive breed in a 40 breeder then put them back in there own tank a 75+ would be best

also live pants will be uprooted

1. can i raise a pair of flowerhorns together without any aggresion (I realize they're flowerhorns.)

Only for short periods of time like trying to get them to breed. 99% of the time you will need a divider to house 2 in the same tank.

2. What's the minimum aquarium size for a pair of flowerhorns (I was thinking 75 but not sure.)

A 75 gallon won't be enough for a pair since most pairs will need to be put between dividers.. I'd say 100 minimum.

3. Also how do plants fare out with flowerhorns!

Not very well lol.

hard to read text right there.

From my experience.which is very little...the male is always trying to breed and beats up my female when shes not ready.....2 depending on size of fish would determine tank size....but one full grown FH could use at least 75g so I think for two full grown FH I would put them in a 100-150 esp if u don't want them to breed...when u do want them to breed put them in a 55.... A lil tip find a female that is smaller than Ur male she will be more submissive....there for less aggression.....as far as plants I don't think live plants will work....they will eat them or up root them gl

Thanks for all the help, one more question though

Is it worth buying fry off aquabid or a 3-4 inch fish

At 3-4" is better because you can see the quality of the fish rather than waiting on fries. With fries its always a gamble.

i like buying fry. if the parents have good genes you can always breed the fry when its older and get some good looking fish regardless how the fish looks.

I admit I like buying frys sometimes. Not everyone has the money to buy a really fh plus shipping cost. But I usually like to see mom and dad to see what I'm working with. If you lived where I live, nice flowerhorns are pretty much non-existant here. All of mine come in the mail now from mostly people in California who purchase them from thailand. But the only frys I like to buy now are thai silks because they generally turn one color
Sometimes you might be surprised what your fry turn out to look. Had a friend who had ugly little fry who turned out very nice with deep red, full flowerline, and nice kok.
