So I started cycling my flowerhorn tank today. I think it turned out nice, the tank is 75 gallons and does have decor. Is that gonna be a problem??? I’m gonna cycle for atleast 2 weeks with chemicals. It is very cloudy currently but it should be ok after it’s all cycled, it also has a new filter on.image.jpg

a lot of flowerhorn keepers prefer bare bottom with little to no decoration the reason being that if a flowerhorn gets even the smallest of scratches from the decorations it could get infected. And because of inbreeding, and being a hybrid they have VERY weak immune systems. So there is a good chance of even death.

Dude also, I don't want this to sound rude but I think you may be setting up or trying to maintain too many tanks. I know you have the 36, and a gulper cat already. I could be totally wrong, but I know you have school as well being around my age, and I know how time-consuming it can be. Just make sure you can provide and take care of all your fish!

As of right now I have 3 tanks running..... 50,75, 29. And my little nuggets tank. I’m setting up my 10 gallon tonight. I have a few open tanks for which I have plans for imthis summer. I thank you for your concern but for now I am ok.

I’d lose the black gravel and wood eventually if the Fh is small it’s ok but once’s it’s grows 6+ it will
Need more space to swim
Fh will Not show good colors against black or dark
Gravel Either bare bottom or something lighter in color I keep mine with crushed shells/coral also
get a blue or white background it looks good with the fish

I’d also add a sponge filters for extra bio and o2
where are you planning on buy from?

Wherever I can find one I plan on buying it. I have an extra sponge filter I can add. Thanks for the advice!
