This is my flowerhorn that I have had for almost a year. I have raised her since a fry, and now she is between 6-7 inches. She is also laying eggs about every three weeks. She is very healthy and has a great personality; very aggressive! I am thinking about selling her. I have seen many other females sell for $300 and up that are not nearly has large or nice looking. I am wondering if anyone can give me some feedback on what you think her value is....

I actually just saw your ad on Craigslist! I don't think anyone in the twin cities would pay 300 dollars for a flowerhorn, but she's a nice looking breeder for sure. I know most the breeders here in the cities don't use high quality females (couldn't tell you why), so it might be hard to make any money off this fish. I would put a price of 50 dollars on the fish, you may get really really lucky and someone will want it for that much, but you'll probably have to lower the price even further. MSP doesn't really have a great demand for flowerhorn, so you won't be able to sell it for as much as you may see elsewhere. Did you breed her with something or is she just laying eggs alone in her tank?

female double row nice lil kok some pearls and is furtile i would say about $150-$200...

She is just laying eggs alone in the tank. She is still young, so I am sure she would be a good fish to breed if someone wanted to match her. She is very aggressive toward pretty much anything though.
I am selling the tank and everything with it if I can sell her first. That is the price I put in the ad for everything I have. It's like brand new. I would like to see her go to a good home. Plus the store I bought her from sells fish comprable to her size for 150-200. Thanks for the feedback, but I think she' s worth more than 50.

ive seen in LFS 1 female equal in size and no where near quality for 29.99.. Just letting you know, I would pay near 100. for her.. Thanks for post..

What store are you going to that's charging 150-200 for comparable-sized fish? I haven't been to that one. I know the guy that's selling this nice male flowerhorn in the cities http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/for/918255965.html and he can't get rid of the thing for 100 dollars. And that's a higher quality fish, plus it's a male, which should make it more appealing to buyers. People online might say "I'd pay 500000 dollars for that fish!" but you're going to have a hard time finding someone in our area who's willing to pay more than 50 dollars for a fish, especially with the economy how it is.

If your fish had a shorter body, more pearls, more red, and better finnage, you could get more money out of it, but it's no masterpiece right now. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice fish, but I don't think it's "hundreds of dollars" nice.

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just being realistic.

iv no idea how much shes worth but shes stunning! hope mine turns out that puuurrrrdy!!

Stunning female. Price/value would depend on the buyer.

Exactly, the price/value depends on who's going to pay it, and from my experience, we don't have anyone in the Twin Cities who's chomping at the bit to shell out a couple hundred bucks for a female flowerhorn. That's why I suggested 50 dollars, not because I'm saying the fish isn't high quality, but that's a realistic amount you should consider starting at.
