Flowerhorn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm a little worried about him, he is taking a very passive role in the aquarium and I haven't seen him eat yet. Should I put him in a fry net and give him frozen food like blood worms, or do you think he will be okay. At the moment he is hiding in the top back corner behind the filter tubes.
Are you holding him in a community aquarium? If so give him a separate tank then he could be the boss.

He is in a 55 community now. Main issue fish are the blue ram and a few skunk loaches. Everything else in the tank is pretty passive. I may place him in a net and let him relax a bit.

At the moment he is too shy... But once he gets settled then the table gets turned.

He is shy, I can't tell if he is stressed and his colors are lighter, or he is more calm. When I added him to the tank last night I realized my heater was unplugged (from when I did a water change 2 nights ago). The temp was like 74 degrees, but it has since climbed back to its native 82 degrees.

He is still settling into his new environment, he's gnna get in his zone and those fish might be the ones hiding from him.

Keep him between 82-85F.. I think that would be idle for juvenile that would pump him up...

LOL... Mate that's what I said... Soon it will be turning..
Yes lol I remember my old kamfa fh killed off several plecos and females. He lived forever alone until I sold him

Well... the red dragon has perished. He was motionless at the bottom of the tank with a bloated stomach... not really sure what killed him, but I suspect stress... he just wasn't flowerhorn material...
