I managed to get a few more shots but still haven't figured out what it is

Looks like a barred Midas, but the face is off. Most likely it is what duanes suggested, a hybrid of some sort with dominant amphilophus genes. No way to know for sure since it was random LFS fish. For what it's worth, I like it.

As far as I know, peeling in amphilophus hybrids such as this one is commonplace.

yes im familiar. i just thought this particular flowerhorn had some extreme changes.
