flowerhorns at petco for a dollar an inch!

Got one today. The guy said they came in as jaguars, but he insisted on selling them to me as firemouths ($2.49) so i politely agreed not wanting to start a confrontation. :) :nilly:

The top dorsal fin is flowing behind its tail, this one is more beautiful than my flowerhorn I bought the other day at my LFS for 10 bucks.

They are sharing a divided 55 together.

I will post pics when i can get him to stop moving.
 
Oh no its one of those tri spotted cichlids that petsmart has been getting lately. Its fins are super red though and reeeally long. Its eyes are really red and so is its throat. It has no barring whatsoever. Its in the 55 witha divider and next to my other flowerhorn I got almost a month ago its (new one) a smaller mass fish but its longer becasue of its fins.

apparantly they got a miss shipment when they ordered jags they got a bag full of those. The saltwater guy (the only knowledgable one there) didn't know what they were, he just assumed they were jags. I told him though that they were mostly trimac, but probably a hybrid. Anyway, that guy wasn't working today. So this fellow insisted that they were firemouths, but I didn't care and didn't want to argue with him and tell him about his store and their shipments and how that got shipped in as a jag. I believe he should know this. So he just kept saying no that has to be a firemouth (which I have to say, If I had to choose between a jag, an oscar, a jack dempsey and a firemouth fry, I would say the firemouth fry looked more like a fh fry than any of the others).

I am just oh so happy with my steal.

ayobreezie I will send youpics when I can get some, it really is gorgeous, even my g/f could tell it was a flowerhorn and she has breeding firemouths so she knows the difference.
 
I looked at it just a few minutes ago and its fins are extremely red compared to my other fowerhorn that is supposed to be a red dragon fry.

yeah ayo Im like 15 minutes from there.

I am charging my camera to get good pics.

(sorry the tank was dirty I never used flash on fish before and it really shows, I wiped it down with glass cleaner to get a clearer shot.)

thanks hansoi I really hope this one is a male cause it looks as though my other one is a female.

If they are both really really red then they can bump uglys and I can see what I get.

I thought it looked better than my actual flowerhorn
