I separated them lmao his fin got messed up from a jewel cichlid he fought with .. took her back to aquarium thou .. but yea he's a softy man lmao he couldn't handle that ! Smh and my **** is basically asking for it ! She was tear in his top lip up hahahah
if they are really at it and it's a close match, just separate them before your fish get messed up and maybe catch some illness if water is not clean enough...
Always post videos of these actions when asking these questions.

If they lip lock more than anything then let the male dominate her if you think e can; If they constantly chomp each other on the sides and scales come off, you need to keep separate
So should i let them lip lock for a while and monitor the situation? The moment they lip lock, i am worried for both of them..
gotta see the fishes and what/how they do in action. But yea if no body and fin biting and just mainly lip lock and the male is bigger then let them do it for some minutes and watch them until it gets too rough.
You separate after you feel it's too long or concerned. You can then re introduce the same day or the day after, because after the adrenaline they calm then they feel ache and pain from the fight, the looser will know the strength of the other and give up/in before having another brutal fight. This method is smart .
