Thats all you need they come with all media and hoses. You just need the pumps.
I have had mine running for over a year now on my 5x2x2 and it looks like the fish are floating in air. The water is crystal clear all of the time.
I have got other tanks with less load & the same filters as the 5x2x2 but no FBF the water is very clear but has not got the wow factor the FBF tank has.
All my new set ups will now all have FBF filters fitted on set up.
Little tip just run some silicon around the base joint of the R/L FBF filters as mine started to leak at the joint. But my mates one is still going strong with no leaks. We got them at the same time.

I've got tons of silicon lying around! That's a good tip. I've heard several others complain about it leaking at the base. Seems like it may be a faulty product line, but it's cheap and it should be just a quick fix. :)

Anyone know the required pumps for these?

Here is the manual, some good info.

GPH depends on how its set up, generally very little, probably around 100pgh actual flow. If you have any head pressure you need a bigger pump though. I run my fb600 on a penguin 550 that is only 145gph and have it toggled back a good bit. Here is the recommendation from the manual:

Get the pentair QuietOne 4000HH and plumb in the bypass

Bypass? Sorry, this is my first time doing anything but a canister / biotower.

I thought I was going to have to wait to find the instructions in the box. :irked:
Thank you very much; that was really helpful! :)

Using the 4000HH (high head) you get all the pressure you'll need to run the FBF, and enough left over to run the rest of your filtration...all a bypass is, Is a valve that diverts some of the flow to the FBF, the rest to the regular filter...

Where should the bypass go? I'm wanting to use it in a wet/dry, and just planned on dropping the pump to run the FBF in the sump. :(
