Isn't pool filter sand fluidized in a pool filter?

Who told you that . Unless you need to know what 'fluidized' means. When sand is fluidized, the sand is constantly in motion, you don't have that in a pool filter, water just passes through the sand (think of the sand acting as filter floss).

I know what a Fluidized bed is, we have it on the system at work. I just figured


fluidized sand bed
pool filter sand

means thats what pools have. I could be wrong, that's just what I thought.

One is fluidized, one is not - both using pool filter sand.

thanks for the info. think when sand is fluidized, it will be able top hold more bacteria , than when its not fluidized .
