Fluidized sand filter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Since I have a plethora of bio ball towers already should I use them as opposed to buying a fluidized sand filter? there seems to me much interest in them, but honestly, I've always liked the low tech way and bio towers are pretty low-tech.

1400 gallon system with 4 stingrays and a tigrinus cat.

If space constraints aren't a problem, I'd go with the bio-towers (sometimes simplistic is good), and aerate from the bottom.

If you want to experiment there's a thread on here for building a FSB and I don't think it needed a very high pressure pump.
