I decided to go ahead n finally start my Planted Aqaurium.... I started with Flourite. I gave it a Good Rinse and put it in my Tank (46gal, Hexagon) with Emperor 280 Filter Running. Its been 24hrs and the Cloud is still Thick!!

I put New Activated Carbon, Changed the Filter n rinsed the Bio Wheel, I even went and bought Eheim Substrate Pro(even tho my filter doesnt have room for it, i put in a Media bag n placed it behind the filter) Still no major change! :WHOA:

Any Advice??? Anything else i can do to clear this up quicker??

I should mention that I have 4 Angels n 3 Larches sitting in a Bucket of water since the change. I dont ant to loose them due to the wait :((

Just be patient. It will subside in a few days....

Should I even bother with the Eheim Substrate Pro?? I never used it before and dont even know if i placed it in the right spot... Just Curious

If you want to use the substrate pro in a emp 280 the best way might be to put it in the extra media basket that is after the filter cartridge and before the bio wheel. Otherwise it clogs its pores with gunk and needs to be cleaned or is ineffective at its intended purpose of bio filtration.

Thanks for your reply Tcarswell.... I will try that. This may be a silly question but... What is the difference between activated carbon and substrate pro?? Im asking because I have carbon in my Media Cartridge and Substrate in a lil pouch infront of the carbon hoping that it will have double actin... hehehe.. Am i wasting my time?? The filter already has Carbon I know, but I usually use extra Carbon in cartridge to clear my water...right?? so should i just use the Subtraite in the cartridge instead???

Sorry Im just trying to get the Hang of all this....Only began Hobbying about 2 months ago. Soooooo much to learn!
