Just as a note - the thread was started to see if anyone had any first hand experience with this series. Not "I heard that....." or "the guy at my LFS said..." or "Compared to an Eheim..." They are still fairly new on the market and I was wondering what people had thought about them thus far. Thanks for the response tenfooteracrylic...

Someone is a grumpy bear. Just stating the intent of the thread. No need for personal attacks there bub. Posts like that shed alot of light on one's character. Instead of retaliating, I'm going to be a grown boy and ignore it...
Anyone else out there own the 05 series OR the FX5 with experience that they would like to share?
What gives you that idea? If someone was to say "I purchased one, the impeller quit after a week and the thing emptied out my aquarium onto the floor" this would be a response that I was looking for. What I'm not looking for is "a guy at my LFS said..." because IMO that is just as valid as "my step-sisters dog groomer's wife said...". You just don't get it do you - Second hand information is as good as gossip. Now please, let someone with experience post here...
I have seen them in action at my local pet store and they look really nice..... I have had two Ehiems break, both the wet and dry types, but I still seem to buy them.
