the title says it im lookin to see what would be better to run on my 102 gal tank. my stock will be 20 african cichlids 1 clown pleco 1 unknown pleco 1 royal farlowella and 4 synodontis catfish. i have a fluval 305 already but i have to get some parts for it and i also looked at the cascade canister filters as well. any sugustions will be great

Another 405 will work for you, but add a FX5, that would be even better. Try Ebay, I've seen FX5 with shipping for $230. your 405 will cost roughly $200 MSRP, so fx5 is great, has great resale value too. gl

fx5

should i run the fx5 alone or should i put the 305 with it

With your stock, one FX5 would work, but feel free to add a smaller Fluval, too.

I think the design of the FX5 is superior to any of the smaller fluval canisters. I actually don't like the smaller ones, but love and own an fx5.

im gona go with the fx5 and another question can i hook a uv sterilizer to the fx5 and still have enough flow to filter the water
