Hi everyone,
I have recently purchased a used fluval 403 filter. It is huge, and it is going into my 33 gallon tank. One problem I had with the filter is that it does not have all of the tubes I need to connect with the aquarium. I was wondering if anyone used tubing and PVC and retrofitted them to attach to the actual filter. I was also thinking of making a a U shaped PVC tube as one of the inputs into the filter. Any tips and suggestions on getting this thing to work? Also I do not have any of the valves, is there any other things I could be using?
I will head to the hardware store tomorrow and try to find some ways to get this thing working.

There was a thread the other day where a guy did just that. It might have been a 404 or a 405. Try a search for the different numbers. It looked good and he said that it would increase his flow also.

See the problem is I am not sure what I am missing, and also the things I seem to be missing arnet for sale. Like the two valves for connecting/disconnecting both input and output of the filter. Not sure if I could find those, also I think I am missing those hex pieces needed to hold the hoses in place. Not sure where to find any of those parts.

I have the same filter, You could buy tubing for it tubbing. I have found most of the parts on ebay or other online retailers.

You can find any thing on line :) If you can put a russian bride on master card im sure some valves for a mass produced filter are for sale.

Sorry for the sarcasm.

Yea found most of the stuff online, instead I just made a trip to home depot..got some hoses and valves, problem solved. Now I just need to make a stand for me aquarium. Can't wait, fluval 403 on a 33 gallon...might add an extra AC as well...

lol nice!
