These break and then lift away from the "clipped" position... some times, as I said.... causeing the impeller shaft angle to change and then worst case...
the rattling will follow...

FYI - I did get a response back from Fluval on this issue....
Basically, they said that the parts weren't covered under the warrenty, ( which of course we knew and that was not the issue) and they did not know why I was having the problems with the clips... the offered me 1 cover and I accepted the offer...
For me...
I will be moving to a large DYI Wet/Dry when I add my next tank and connect them together...

It's a design flaw. This is very common among the 04 and 05 generation of fluval canisters. No matter how gentle you try to be, it still may happen.

Totally. The plastic is too rigid and the clipped in position too tight.
The worst part is that having broken ones still in use, can gradually break the impellers.
