Fluval 405, need helps asap please

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks for all the help everyone!
i'll try and give it a go one more time today with priming on an EMPTY canister...
+1 for the primer being complete rubbish.
might just take one for the team and heave-ho with my good ole' lungs.

Hopefully it works. Will keep you guys posted!

Fluval 405 is definitely a good filter IMO

The 405 is great, easy to clean and I found easy to set up. It might also be worth phoning Hagen for advice if you can't get it going by sucking on the pipe, the UK branch was very helpful when I had to sort a couple of problems out (sending me free spares to try).

Remember to get the syphon going fully into a bucket before shutting the valve on the end of the hose, that way you know that it will fill the filter.

UPDATE: got the bad boy running!!! made me sooo happy

i wanna change the media to peat now, to get the tea-colored water and softness for my xanto.

currently running the 405 @ about 60% flow, an AC110 and a 1140lph powerhead on a 90g

i'll be damned if its not a river in there lol.

Well done. What was the problem in the end?

i emptied the canister. gave it a heave-ho with the lungs into a big glass jar to get it flowing correctly, closed the valve, attached to the canister, then let 'er fill up...plugged it in after the sloshing inside stopped...then BAM!

weak stream at first then *big water wooshing noise*..i had to turn down the flow a bit :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2
