Very true about the aquaclear. I currently have my aqueon with the bonded filter pads cut to size with pot scrubber behind them and actually didn't see much of a change as far as flow goes. If the c series had a lil more gph than 264 I would grab one. Hopefully fluval decides that the c5 is a must have and we see it soon.
But when I really think about it the c4 would be about equal to that of my cascade 1000 canister filter which pushes 265gph. I think it pushes much less tho full of media. The hobs are so much cheaper to run too. When I had my 120 back in college I had 2 emp400s and a magnum 350 and the tank was crystal and overstocked. Through drfosters I can get the aqueon for $24, the ac110 for $57 once not on backorder, and the c4 for $38 at my lfs. Lots of back for the buck between the 3. Wife told me I could order anyone of them or I can order a fish. Will be the last thing I buy for a while since my first kid comes today via c section. The fish talk calms my nerves
