Fluval Edge 6 gallon Planted.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'll admitt when I saw it about a month ago betta tank shopping I thought twice about it, but the fact the it was $100.00 for 6g won, but it still is a very sweet looking tank.

I agree on the price Or should I say overpriced. But it was a Christmas gift card. So it was free to me.:D My other tank is a 210 that needs nothing. My kids love this little guy. They pay more attention to this one than any other tank I have had.:screwy: Go figure....

Just envy speaking. If I could justify it I would get it. Its very elegant and classy. You have any fish in there?

Here is a thread from another forum that has some good tips on edge's

http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/planted-nano-tanks/95967-official-edge-thread.html

It looks like lighting is one of the main concerns about a edge planted tank. I am sure its nothing a DIY'er can't figure out in due time.

I don't have the link but somewhere on that site is a thread about minimum light thresh hold for planted tanks. In that thread it suggested 30-50 watts of correct k rating light for a 5.5g to be medium light.

I have 30watts of 65ook light over my 5.5g tank. And its ok so far. But I am well aware that I will have to raise that amount later with the plants I want.

hope that helps

UPDATE Thanks for all of the advice.:nilly: So far I'm very happy with this little guy. Water changes are so easy compared to the 210. I use a 5 gallon bucket and a siphon hose. Takes maybe 5 min.

It look good man. But I honestly like how it looks before better. I love the scape with the river rocks. With the new arrangement the plants look a little too organized. From personal experience anubius does not do too well when the rhizome is buried under the gravel. The tank looks good, but I think some driftwood and rock can make it look more natural.
