it wouldnt have broken if it was a eheim :D

ehiem only have one person working for them world wide as nothing ever brakes :D

Yeah, but he could have bought another lid and still probably stay under the eheim price tag in the US. Eheim is a great company though, I just don't like paying for shipping over seas.

I do not understand why so many people have problems with Fluvals? There is almost nothing difficult about them, very simple, but yet people have problems. I have had a couple fluvals with no issues. :)

AFter cleaning my 304s i found it hard to reseal them without leaking that i eventually gave up. They would clog a lot also and piss me off

Update...

The lid for the fx5 came UPS last friday! That was a quick shipment!! 1 week for the time i wrote them. The tank is cycling now and is Crystal Clear!!

Also I used Pool Sand. No Question it is the way to go.

Tried Play sand before w/ salt tank... But spent hours having to remove it after it clouded the tank for weeks.. plus looked like SH!& too orange...

I also have a Salt water Reef set up and am using W/D filter.. my tank water has always stayed at perfect levels. but I must mention I have large amounts of live rock that do thier fair share of filtration.

This is my first Canister filter, will keep you posted. Plan to have Florida Native show tank at my office. Soon to have a 5 to 10 lbs bass and a couple little other non bass natives in tank.

Oh and even @ $319 for an Ehiem it's still over $100 of what I paid for the fx5...

One more thing the pressure form the out-put hose into the tank is like a garden hose running wide open. and thats with 3 fully loaded filter trays w/ all bio and coal.. No need for power heads!!!

I don't know either about the FX5. My lfs has one hooked up and it doesn't look like it is made with great materials. I think I will wait a while on buying one. If I were to get a canister now, I would pay extra and get the Eheim III.

we've got two fx5 and both at one point quit pumping only to smack them around a little bit and they resume pumping and no problems since
