NO prefilter, theres no point in it. it does nothing! why do you guys recommend it??!?!

i wasted like 30 bucks on that stuff because of suggestions off here. its just a waste of space!

mine is now full of biomax and the top tray has a blue marineland large particle sponge. however, biomax is xpensive!

I always liked these but the fact that they're silicate worries me in that they might promote algae growth...though I've never tried them. Seems like they would house a lot of bacteria plus their shape would be great for flow.
