Fluval FX5 on my 50gallon

I just bought this filter the other day for my 50g, soon be upgrading to 120g. Anything i should know or to watch out for with this filter?

yep. i had a fluval 404 on my 50 gallon and on its lowest setting it was barely reasonable for the tank.

Got a fx5 for a 55g; Just remeber not to use the fine filter pads and the out flow will have to be adjusted to accomadate the fish. 3 compartments of bio media in my fx5.

You should be fine. I had a FX5 on a 55 for years. I personally would leave the flow open all the way. Redirect the the current from exit tubes if needed.

Just found this picture. lol Talk about overkill. FX5 and two 802 power-heads. Thinking ahead, now all this stuff is on a 210.

PS the Cat. was only in their for a short time.

Sorry, should have used the word current instead of flow. Leave the flow open all the way but like trent said, redirecting the current might be necessary.

Sorry thats crazy,yes you can divert the flow but its still going to be mad,you will have to turn the flow down on the in and out valves or it will be like a washing machine

wow sry to break it to you but you can find them for 300 on ebay and a few other places online. pet smart also had them for 300 not to long ago, dont know if they are still that cheap
