Fluval FX5 owners...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Virtualy silent. I own 3 and have all 3 running, the only sound I hear is when they shut down to vent gas out. This is just bubbling.

buy 2 XP3s instead would be around the same price and a lot more versatile. I have my tank right next to my bed and it is dead silent with the xp.

As many have stated, the XP3 canisters are very nice; but if
someone wanted to send me an FX5 I would gladly use it.
pm me for my address.

My FX5 is virtually silent. I highly recommend it. It moves ALOT of water and is considerably less expensive than the eheims.

Good luck.

Man i wanta an FX5 sooooooooo bad i just got my 110 galllon tank so i need bigger filtration. I was thinking an FX5 + AC110 + ac powerhead

Rather than start a new thread, I figure I'll post in here. I'm setting up a 75g Eartheater tank and ordered an FX5 for filtration. My concern is that the current will blow the sand into oblivion. Are my concerns well grounded or nervous paranoia?

I have two FX%'s on my main tank and they are very quiet, I have to say they are not as quite as quiet as the monster Eheim equivalents 2234/2260/2080 but not much louder, and they have excellent performance.

it has 2 outlets so the current is difused and although still powerfull should be ok.
i point one up and one stightly down to remove the crap from the sand and it works fine on a 24'' high tank.

i forgot to repost again on this.

yes my fx5 is very quiet so much so i ordered another.
