Fluval FX5 waranty help

what type of substrate do u have? if its sand its stuck in the pump if its fine gravel this happens to or try changing your filter pads they mess up flow alot when they get filthy and it doesnt take long at all for this to happen thats my complaint
 
aha then deff sand stuck in their and yes you can access it if you are mech handy there is a thread on here with fx5 modifications with a link to the diy and it shows you how to get to it or just call the 1800# if you dont have it let me know ill get it for u

thanks, but cant really take it off my tank and send it in... my fish will die by the time they actually get it back to me and I think it's ****ty that I'd have to buy another one just to get one to work properly.

I looked for the DYI but cant locate the right one, you guys have al ink? I pulled off the pump it had some gravel in it, but after cleaning and putting back together 2 times now it still makes noises. Any ideas?

I'm really not impressed with these, there should be a gravel catch.
my buddy had the same rattling problem. turns out the impeller was damaged and hitting the housing. not sure what caused it to do that. just unscrew the pump housing and you can take a look.

he got lucky and bought a whole new housing from a lfs for $40!!!!!!! :eek: they had priced them wrong
